Designing a part requires different methods and patterns at Farplas
according to the customer's available design data and request.
DEFINED PROJECT : The technical drawing or CAD-Data of the designed part is supplied by the customer.
PARTIAL DEFINED-PROJECT : Prototype Design; Some customers may supply the prototype of their design.
The dimensions of the part are defined by measuring the part at the FARPLAS 3D
Coordinate Measuring Center. This reverse engineering process takes some time since
the real scanning of the prototype is performed. After getting point data, our designers
create the surfaces. The customer is informed from every step of this process.
CONCEPT PROJECT : From an idea to reality; If the customer requires full design concept,
FARPLAS Product Design Department is in charge. Around 5 to 10 new design models are created
regarding to the requirements of the customer. These new design suggestions are presented to
the customer. After deciding to one of the new designs, FARPLAS technical team concentrate to
the parts, assemblies and the details such as the kind of the material, color, etc.
One sample from the designed parts can be taken locally with the help of Stereolitography
Technology (STL format). The design process is performed in close contact with the customers as
a part of system integrator and supplier service.

CAD/CAM software to the devoted project. Followed by Mould flow analysis and STL
prototype are presented, CNC milling operation takes place.
In order to provide the optimal design suggestions and models that fulfill our customers'
requirements, Farplas Product and Tooling Design Department operates with the latest versions
of the leading Product Development ( CAD ) and Tooling Design ( CAM ) softwares.
Farplas, mainly prefers establishing of designs with the following CAD/CAM softwares;
CATIA V5 R 17
SOLIDWORKS 2007
CIMATRON 7.3
AUTOCAD LT 2007
OPTIS
OTON 8.5
As a result of Farplas's successful customer oriented & devoted Project Management and
